Singapore Green Data Centre Roadmap

AdoptedSingaporeStrategy

IMDA roadmap for sustainable data centre growth, building on the June 2023 Digital Connectivity Blueprint. It aims to provide at least 300 MW of additional capacity in the near term, with more through green energy deployments. Supporting measures listed by IMDA include the refreshed BCA-IMDA Green Mark for Data Centres 2024 (launched October 2024), the Energy Efficiency Grant for data centre IT equipment and the SS 715:2025 standard on IT equipment energy efficiency. The roadmap is a government strategy, not legislation.

Current status

Government strategy (non-statutory), launched 30 May 2024 per the IMDA factsheet. The IMDA roadmap page shows last updated 11 September 2025. Capacity is delivered through allocation exercises such as DC-CFA2. The factsheet also states Singapore had over 1.4 GW of data centre capacity across more than 70 cloud, enterprise and colocation data centres at launch.

Who it applies to

Data centre capacity growth in Singapore.

Exceptions: Not applicable (strategy).

What it means for cooling and power

Capacity in Singapore is rationed and tied to efficiency and green-energy commitments, so suppliers that can evidence high-temperature operation, liquid cooling and efficient IT support have a policy-aligned pitch. The 300 MW figure is a roadmap target and must not be added to DC-CFA2 allocations.

Editorial: business implications, not legal advice.
