3C merges with Datalec to form 3C Datalec, a liquid cooling and data centre engineering services group

What changed

3C, a liquid-cooling-led data centre infrastructure services company, announced on 14 October 2026 that it has merged with Datalec Precision Installations, a London-based data centre engineering specialist founded in 2012, to form 3C Datalec. The group says it has about 1,000 staff, forecasts 2026 revenue above 400 million USD and works with four of the five largest hyperscalers, with active projects in 16 countries. It plans to hire 200 engineers and open facilities in Warsaw, Calgary and Austin over the next 12 months. New investment comes from Longbow Capital, S2G Investments, Apogem Capital and QIC. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Why it matters Editorial analysis

Liquid cooling is moving from a product sale to a delivery and lifecycle service, and contractors are combining cooling, mechanical and electrical installation, commissioning and facilities management in one firm. For buyers this can simplify accountability across the coolant loop, but it also concentrates design, build and maintenance risk with a single party. The revenue figure is a company forecast.

Questions a buyer should ask

  • Which parts of the liquid cooling scope does the group manufacture itself and which does it integrate from other vendors?
  • How are fluid quality, commissioning and maintenance responsibilities split once the hall is live?
  • Do the new Warsaw, Calgary and Austin facilities add manufacturing capacity or service teams?
